Gary Nash

       Gary Nash of Pinon Hills, Ca. went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, June 10, 2010. He died at home due to complications from COPD and congestive heart failure surrounded by his wife and three daughters. He was born in Shelbyville, Indiana on August 21, 1925.
       Gary served in the armed forces in World War II and was very proud to have done so. He lived in California for 59 years, and in the High Desert for 49 years. Gary was a minister with the Assemblies of God since 1953. During his 57 years in ministry he was a pastor in Fillmore, Moorpark, Carpinteria, and 20 years in Barstow. While in Barstow, he was nominated man of the year in 1981. He concluded his ministry at Solid Rock in Oak Hills.
       Gary is survived by his wife of 63 years LaDonna of Pinon Hills; daughters Donna Long and husband Paul of Apple Valley, Peggy Kauffman and husband Tom of Apple Valley, and Marcia Anderson and husband Don of Pinon Hills. He also leaves behind nine grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
       Services were at 9 a.m. Thursday, June 17 at Desert View Funeral Home, 11478 Amargosa Road in Victorville, followed by private graveside services at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside.
